Wonderful, Susan! In the case of FaceBook, people have been complaining for years & years, and FB did nothing...until G+ arrived and forced their hand. They thought the market for what they did was all sewn-up - that they could ignore compliant after complaint. (Was this megalomania at the top thinking their guess was better than others' facts??) I'd say FB versus G+ is a freak example, but I'll bet it happens every day on a much smaller scale. Duncan"
Great rant, Steve! Locally, the grocery & drug stores have very recently hiked their prices significantly - and this is stuff we literally can't live without. Bad time for luxury businesses to gouge their loyal customers. Duncan p.s. I dumped cable in Sept.'96 for similar reasons - unending price hikes & very poor quality in their case. Customer loyalty only lasts till you give us a reason why we shouldn't - and Nutflix has just given us plenty! And, as to Nutflix' 2nd site & bill - I'm now back to paying my internet bill through the mail - Time-Warner-RoadRunner not only hiked their rate, they wanted me to use a 3rd party billing service."
Hi Alastair. This guy is a much more than just an "idea guy" - he's a genius at concept, engineering, inventing, and even marketing. Lots of people have ideas on building a better vacuum cleaner - but they haven't got a clue how to pull it off in 3 dimensions. p.s. I'm a fan of Formula 1/Grand Prix cars - they're like land-bound fighter-jets. He designs them. Duncan"
Interesting stats, Dave. I see each side sees it skewed a bit differently. Even as a HUGE advocate of seeing all people/all cases as individual, I agree that this is one area where the "old boy" system still unfortunately rules. It's definitely still more difficult for qualified women to ascend the corporate ladder. How many more generations till the stereotypes fall away?? Duncan"
Hi Miranda. I agree with Niall - that's the hardest for me, too. I find it really difficult not to check-in during the middle of the night. The biggest advantage of working somewhere beside home was that you could leave it behind when you drove home - forget about it till the next day (the relief when leaving was palpable - every time).
