Linkbait works well at drawing in new readers, because linkbait posts have efficient headlines and readily digestible content, like lists. However, they get old, and some readers like myself, find that linkbait posts have little to offer after a while. Here's why

It all depends on if the article are any good. Most of the time they're not, which is a little weird since they're supposed to be linkbait.

The first contrarian view I've seen on linkbaiting, and I agree with it. If you do it too often, you might get a jump in hits, but lose what you really want -- loyal vistors.
