Achingly boring would be about the only thing possible for toning down Tom Cruise's over the top "former" personality. The best thing he could do for his career would be to reinvent himself as a statesman of acting, tone down the Peter Pan/Scientology whackiness, and take on a few more character roles rather than trying to hang on to his "youth" by attempting the leading man roles. It's time for him to pass the baton to the younger generation. It's up to him whether he does it in style or if he's forced to do it by being a PR disaster.

P.S. I'd love to hear one of your evaluations of Sacha Barron Cohen.
