Rather, the purpose of the program is to demonstrate the company's loyalty to a good customer, and often that surfaces in economic value like discounts, gift certificates, points, etc.

7 Vote(s)

From article: I've tried out nearly all online photo editors, and although some were good, I wasn't perfectly satisfied with any of them. Adobe's online, lightweight version of Photoshop, dubbed Adobe Photoshop Express, unfortunately falls under the same category, although it's one of the sleekest such applications out there. First thing you need to know about it is that it's not Photoshop. It's not even a lightweight version, meaning that it looks and feels the same as Photoshop, only with less options. It's a completely different application with some of Photoshop's features added into the mix.

8 Vote(s)

Most businesses think now's the time to cut back and cower. Why not see it as an opportunity, the way the creators of some very big brands have? Pop quiz, hot shot: What do MTV, Trader Joe's, and the iPod have in common? Yes, of course, they're all now ubiquitous and make our lives much more agreeable. But to us, the most interesting thing about all three is that these great brands were born during recessions. (Trader Joe's: 1958; MTV: 1981; iPod: 2001, if you are scoring at home.) And therein lies a point everyone seems to be forgetting in the midst of the current economic slowdown. If handled correctly, a downturn can be a good thing for your company. It can give you the opportunity-and the funds-to innovate and get a substantial leg up on the competition. But only if handled correctly.

7 Vote(s)

Considering how focused PR people are with having a 'social media strategy,' I'm still a little surprised when I see press releases online that aren't optimized for the web. Come on people - it's not that hard! The first and easiest thing to do is to embed links in the body of your press release. Pick out the key phrases in your press release - your company's name, what you do, the name of the CEO or whoever is quoted - and turn them into links. Here's an example of a release I did this week using this strategy for a company called CrossLoop, which offers a free desktop sharing software tool. by Jon Greer

10 Vote(s)

CenturyTel's system allows it to observe and analyze the online activities of its Internet customers, keeping tabs on every Web site they visit. NebuAd takes the information it collects and offers advertisers the chance to place online ads targeted to individual consumers. This technique -- called behavioral targeting -- is far more customized than the current method of selling ads online. The technology does raise privacy issues. The Internet-service providers often know other information about consumers, such as their names, locations and age and income ranges, which can be very valuable to potential advertisers, especially when combined with Web browsing habits.

8 Vote(s)
