I just got through reading the article and the information is very solid and should benefit anybody, good steps though I take a non-niche approach to my own portal site. A tip on your theme is that your floating sidebar interrupts all your post content when visiting your site from a mobile browser like an iPad. I highly recommend you use the WP Touch Pro plugin to set a different more reader friendly mobile theme, since digg digg or sharebar or whatever plugin creates the floating bar can't know if a mobile browser is visiting. It makes it nearly impossible to read content on iPad and I am on iPad only for next 4 days.

I agree that it takes hard work and being consistent with all aspects of blogging to see an increase in traffic and business income.

Perseverance while building up the readers, writing quality posts and interacting with those who visit are essential components also.

Setting attainable goals and having direction will help motivation as there will be specifics to be achieved and distractions will not occur as often.
