| It was fun and by the end of the day I'm sure this article will be sitting comfortably on the HOT TOPICS page where it rightfully belongs. And I will have learned not to be so outspoken. | yoni67 | Small Business Blogs: How To Avoid Being Boring | 724 days |
| Great post, Rivkah. I think there is a tendency to romanticize the life and role of a soldier *while he or she is away.* But once these people come home and the ticker tape parades have ended (if they even received one), then, sadly, they are quickly forgotten. It's happened countless of times over- especially for the post WWII missions/combat, and even more especially if the war was an unpopular one. If they've actually been in combat, then this phenomenon is even worse, because most civilians will not be able to understand what these soldiers have been through, nor what they might currently be struggling with. I imagine it can be very lonely for some of these vets. This bill is at least a step in the right direction. Adam | Adam_Gottlieb | May 30, 2011: U.S. Rep. | Thanks Rochelle - debate is good though and Yoni is perfectly entitled to express his opinion. Ironically it has caused some fun debate which is far from boring. Thanks for reading! | Connor Keppel | Small Business Blogs: How To Avoid Being Boring | 724 days |

| You're a great guy Connor Keppel! Maybe I am looking too much for those Beavis and Butthead keywords Rivkah mentioned. No disrespect meant. It was a great information-filled post and I'll be looking for more from you! Yoni | yoni67 | Small Business Blogs: How To Avoid Being Boring | 724 days |
| All great points Adam. I love the story of the lady and the fruit. It really brought humanism and understanding to the issue. Slices of life like this are what makes great posts exceptional posts. | You have my vote too Connor! Nice points. And Yoni, just because a blog post doesnt have the words "boogers" "butts" or "beer" doesn't make it boring :) | saraib820 | Small Business Blogs: How To Avoid Being Boring | 724 days |
| Hi Yoni, Firstly thanks for being honest - I'd admire candor. Simply put, this is essentially a very basic 'how-to'. I tend to blog with my heart on my sleeve (see www.connorkeppel.com) but I see this platform as a chance to give genuine tips more so than to entertain. As mentioned blogging about blogging can be boring unless it's specifically to a digital loving audience - hence the reason I've saved it for peers through this platform. I will certainly take your points on 'bored' (pun intended) and keep it in mind for future posts. Thanks for voting and reading. | General Patton! That magnificent bastard! I read his BOOK!! "War As I Knew It" Edited posthumously by his wife in 1947. (I've read a lot of books by generals & commanders - always keep in mind that in their view, they never made a mistake in judgment (there were always excuses - they weren't allowed to execute the plan the way they wanted, not enough time, not enough troops, not enough ordnance, etc.). | The number has come down over the years as more outlets became available to absorb syndicated content. As you point out, even when this rule was at its height there were still shows that were syndicated having never reached the magical 100 episodes. I think that's applicable to great blogs too. | AggieBrad | 4 Key Numbers Every Blogger Should be Focusing On | 724 days |
| Nice. George Patton. West Point. Mexican raids to capture Pancho Villa. WWI tank commander. WWII General extraordinaire. His death was tragic. Out hunting pheasants only months after WWII ended. His driver passes a car on a blind turn and crashes into another vehicle. Patton is paralyzed and dies days later. What a tragic end to such a career. So much possibility lay ahead. He was outspoken. He did piss a lot of people off and break rules. But he was a leader of the highest caliber. Thanks for a great read. | yoni67 | 4 Leadership Lessons From General George Patton Jr. On Militant Growth | 724 days |
| Braden, Thanks for leaving the comment on Juan's YouTube page. It would be a gas if he comes to Bizsugar to comment. I'm glad the post generated some interest as it is a subject that needs to be spoken about and the video told a nice, inspiring story. Heidi, I'll post maybe once a week...other peoples' material of course. Yoni | yoni67 | Giving Hope - Opening Doors of Employment for People with Disabilities (VIDEO) | 724 days |
| Hi Jennie, I think what you have identified in this post is how business has and is following the consumer online. One of the questions that's often asked is about the ROI of social? but all too often the answer is sought with a short term focus. The reality is that many businesses have already got left behind, some noticing and trying desperately to make up the ground, others not even aware. The ROI for many of these businesses may simply be survival? | nialldevitt | Multi-Channel Commerce: What's Your Strategy? | 724 days |
| I'm voting because you made good points. But I have to be honest, when I saw the title about not being boring, I expected something really dynamic, energetic and alive. It was kind of boring. Sorry. Yoni | yoni67 | Small Business Blogs: How To Avoid Being Boring | 724 days |
| Hi Conor, great post, Love it! Another I'd add is don't try to sell, well at least not in an obvious way! Also "Blogs where the authors are visible always gains my instant respect" is a great point, the blogs I read allow me in on the personalities and culture behind the business, allow me get to know you before I do business with you. | nialldevitt | Small Business Blogs: How To Avoid Being Boring | 724 days |
| Great interview Torrey and Anita, though I am, of course, biased. I think the most interesting thing is that this is one of those interviews anyone interested in developing an online content publishing business can use as a road map for success. | Hi Yoni Yeah. I think the data is probably quite tech startup focussed which is going to affect it a lot. I suppose most people start up wherever they are. If you do choose where to locate your startup, where the money is might be an issue and also where the skilled labour pool is. With tech companies looking for Angel funding that's going to explain a lot of the cities on this list. | alastair | The 20 Most Entrepreneurial Cities in the USA? | 724 days |
| Absolutely right, John. A bubble, if there is one, has nothing to do with small business. Your blog is a social media platform and that's more than likely a site that won't go away even if a bubble bursts. Leave the doom and gloom to Wall Street. Chances are there will be cheap tools for you to use regardless of the outcome there. | Small Business Manifesto | Social Media Bubble? Not For Small Business Owners | 724 days |
