| Thanks for the reply Trevor - I don't normally tout an article but if you look back on my submissions on Bizsugar to a week or so ago you'll see a great article from one of our contributors on Tweak Your Biz about the legal problems you can face when employees use Social Media on your behalf. It really opened my eyes - worth a read if you get a chance. It's written by Flor McCarthy | Sian Phillips | Social Media and Your Small Business's Employees | 3 hours |

| Rather than interrupting the interviewee with questions, just take down notes and ask later. TRUE! If you keep bothering and stopping them just to clarify something you didn't hear, you'd totally ruin the interview especially if the interviewee is so immersed in telling their story. | tcamba | Turning Interview Notes into A Blog Post | 4 hours |
| Really great tips, Marsha. I think I like the last one the best. Your rivals are doubtless after the same community you are. Joining forces can give everyone a bigger pie. | Hi John, I think the comparison of blogging to journalism is right on. More importantly, many business owners are in tune with some of the basics of journalism thanks to the number of newsletter publishers both in e-mail form and on paper before the blog was born. Hope bloggers out there will take note. There is much to learn from the world journalism, even if blogging need not always be confined by the same boundaries. | Hi Arden, Always find it interesting to see Tumblr listed among the ranks of social media. By some definitions, all blog are, of course, regardless of the platform. And Tumblr's position as a social platform seems certainly to have figured into Yahoo's decision this week to buy the company. But it's always interesting to me that Tumblr stands alone as a platform as often identified with social sites like Facebook and Twitter as with its blog brethren. | Hi Peter, I think whether a business analyst, business coach or just a close colleague, asking for an extra set of eyes to evaluate what you're doing right, what you're doing wrong and what you could be doing better is always a good idea. | Hi Susan, Fantastic comments about the need to make these changes to a business slowly over time. Making the changes all at once is scary and overwhelming. Like everything, break these tasks into manageable pieces. | Hi Martin, For the benefit of both the Small Business Trends and BizSugar communities, could you explain a bit more about what specific benefits you see in Tumblr and how you use the platform for the niches you've mentioned here? | HeatherStone | $1 Billion Tumblr Deal Turns 26-Year-Old Founder into Mega-Millionaire | 7 hours |
| Congrats to David Karp and thanks to Joshua for sharing this story. I have the same questions as Ivan and Robert about the monetization of the deal. If Yahoo! would implement smart ad options similar to InfluAds and BlogAds, that could turn out in a good way for Tumblrs' users and readers. I have been a Tumblr user for a pretty long time and I am using the platform for some of my own domains and niched sites, e.g., NameDayGift, AtlasAnd, and ObjectiveArgentum. Talking about argentum (the Latin word for silver and money), I hope that Mr. Karp will be paid in real money and not in paper money! ;) | lyceum | $1 Billion Tumblr Deal Turns 26-Year-Old Founder into Mega-Millionaire | 8 hours |
| Hi Harry, It does save time and I was surprised at the number of service businesses that did not have one. Excellent point about the About page. Susan | m4bmarketing | Attract Customers By Making A Simple Change | M4B Marketing | 8 hours |
| Susan - Having an FAQ page allows your customers to get information they need without you having to spend time replying the same set of questions over and over. It's a win-win for both. Another important page that every website should have is About page for the same reason. | AngelBiz | Attract Customers By Making A Simple Change | M4B Marketing | 9 hours |
| You have summarized the marketing very effectively in these 5 bullets. I also like that you included top-notch offering in the list. My view is no amount of marketing will help you sell if it is not supported by product or offering with great value proposition. I also liked the experiment you conducted in the workshop. I will try to use it sometimes to see what kind of response I get. | AngelBiz | How to Market Your Business Effectively | 9 hours |
| Excellent topic of discussion. I agree that we need to simplify things in this world that has become increasingly complex in terms of choices and technical details. However, any simplification comes at the risk of alienating those who like to tinker themselves. A great example is Apple vs. Google. Apple advocates simplifying gadgets and user interface to make it easy for an average Joe to use. However, those who are technically savvy and like to play and customize their own way will prefer Google. Which path you follow depends on what type of customers you want to attract. | AngelBiz | DumbingThings Down Versus Radical Simplification | 10 hours |

| I totally agree with you Martina. It's best to have your own blog so people can have somewhere to visit you at. That way they can decide whether they want to do business with you or not. If people are only sending out affiliate links to their social media accounts it's hard for people to get to know you and they might label you as a spammer.
