Badges? We Don’t Need No Stinking Badges …

This famous and misquoted phrase about "stinking badges" comes from The Treasure of Sierra Madre, a classic film. In it a Bandito, claiming to be a Federale, utters something like this line when challenged by Humphrey Bogart to show his badge and prove he's a federal officer.
