There are upsides and downsides to running your business in the cloud. But probably the most important question to ask is whether you can afford to manage all your computer/IT needs yourself in-house. Some larger more developed companies with their own servers and a staff to manage them may need to weigh the pros and cons of abandoning this system in favor of cloud computing. For many small businesses and startups, however, the answer is much more simple. Without the staff or resources to manage their own technology needs, the choice is between using these services and doing without until they can afford to invest in IT on their own. Faced with these two choices and competing with larger companies already making effective use of robust technology resources, the answer seems obvious. Small businesses have and will continue to become strong users of cloud computing out of necessity.
