Recent online security breaches and attacks have left the business and technology communities in a turbulent state regarding the strength of their security.

While we may talk for hours on end about the attacks perpetrated by skilled individuals, small groups of hackers and very lucky “script kiddies,” it’s equally important to consider that some national governments are cyber-attacking foreign businesses. These attacks are often politically motivated, better planned and more dangerous than attacks by private entities

When will the commander in chief take these threats in a serious way?

Cyber warfare ahead.

It's a worrying trend, indeed. I wonder what an average small business owner with little knowledge about cyber threat can do about it. As always, small businesses are becoming victims, IMO.

Small businesses don't have the means to keep track of everything, so they tend to be most vulnerable.

China is maintaining a Cyber Army! Wow! As you said, small business are on risk because they don't have funds to maintain a cyber team to protect themselves from hacking stuff and thus they are mostly easy to hack or infect.

Firewall and antivirus integration in emails is very important and a little bit of common sense is required to stay safe.

Let me share something, yesterday I got an email from an email id from [email protected] that looks like original bluehost, and in the email they did mention that you are using thousands of directory keeping our servers on risk and bla bla.. in order to get your account locked, click this link to sort out the issue.

And the link was a naked url which begin with bluehost.com/ but once I mouseover on it, I saw some other .ru link as hyperlink. I just opened that link in other browser to know what it is and how the link interprets.. as I opened, that was exactly like the Bluehost page but the URL in the address bar is different and I understood that someone wants to get my credentials..

So I saved myself with my sense of humor. So everyone needs to use his/her mind before taking action on any suspicious things. Rest the tips mentioned in the article are spot on.

Before starting to work online (and getting many security precautions), I remember my computer has been infected many times with virus, that I needed to clean it completely, by removing the operating system and installing it again.

Knowledge and prevention is the key of being secure online.

Thanks for sharing your experience of yesterday.

I receive so many spam emails that if I got a cent for each of them, I'd be rich!
