This has been in discussion for quite some time with the main focus being on companies like Google that so notably provide some of these "perks." Would company car rentals or even a free company apartment available to visiting executives or other employees eventually fall under similar scrutiny depending upon the arrangement? (I know of companies that have allowed employees to stay in company apartments for long periods while "getting settled" in a new position.)What is your take? Does anyone besides the government think this is a good idea? It seems like a potentially slippery slope for the IRS. And it "feels" discriminatory in the area of free day care, because this will absolutely affect female employees disproportionately.
