Val, thanks for your contribution. Generating backlinks randomly for the purposes of SEO is harmful, and it must be avoided.

Getting backlinks from quality, authority blogs is a plus for our blogs.

This is so true especially with all the updates Google is rolling out these days. Backlinks is very necessary for SEO but, that is never a reason to start chasing it from all angle. We must all be very mindful of where we gets backlinks from. Thanks for sharing this with the bizsugar community.
