Do you know who your target market is? Your real target market? I am tackling this question with my business and have come up with a few insights on how to find it.

Wow Malla, I really love this post. I've always heard how important it is to define who your target market truly is. I'm in the process of figuring that out as well inside of my business. I have a general idea of who my market is and what they want but I feel that I really need to narrow and niche it down much more.

I've taken to implementing exactly what you mentioned in your post and asking what existing audience I already have what they're biggest challenges are. I'll be using the feedback I get to analyze and evaluate what I need to do to better serve them.

Thanks for sharing this post!

Ti

We've learned that figuring out your target market is much harder than people think. The tendency is to start very broad. But then your message gets watered down to the point it is completely useless!!!

Hmmm I'm not sure I understand your comment. Yes, finding out who your target market is ...is very tough. What I wanted to point out in the article is that it takes digging and researching to continually tweak who you think the market is.

In my example, I think I was honest to share I haven't gotten it figured out yet. It's going to take some work.

But I know the the first initial ideas that I have about gender, education, income - all of the themes that are commonly taught - are not enough.

So it's a work in progress.

Are you figuring out who your target market is? Having some challenges?

Malla Haridat,

I can resonate with your statement:

"It’s one of the big questions I am grappling with now. Who do I really serve? And how do I demonstrate the value that I offer?"

I have been struggling with this for some time. I have to become better to package the different services that I can offer. It is easy as a social media evangelist to start talking meta stuff, without first listening to that the potential clients really want.
