Many people are under the impression that making money on the internet is as simple as tying your shoes, and that all you have to do is throw together a website and then sit back and watch the money come pouring in while you do nothing.

Hey Mike, in my honest opinion, hard work, crystal clear view, and uber focus will only help build a business that can make money consistently. Everything else that talks about a magic pill or a push button is seriously BS. Thanks for the wonderful post. And oh, yes shortcuts - they're a real set back. But most of us fall into that trap hoping to save some time and money and end up losing them a LOT :)

Great piece. Making money online certainly isn't easy. It's a simple concept but it requires tireless hard work. You have to be committed to be in it for the long haul and treat it like a real business not just something to make a quick buck.

You know what, it's not easy, at all.

Sure, the barrier to entry is low, but hoping to get $$$ by shortcuts is probably the worst reason people want to start making money online.

There is NO shortcut; even if there is, it wouldn't last long.

I was establishing some web properties that are easy money making. I was making a high 3-digit per month doing minimal work - just like a dream comes true. But suddenly the niche skydive and let's just say that 2 years ago it's a dead niche.
