Micro-finance and micro-loaning models have become quite popular over the last 20 years. Non-profit Kiva has pioneered the peer-to-peer micro-lending model and has created economic opportunity for countless individuals across the globe.

New non-profit startup Vittana aims to move the model a to the very base of economic opportunity - education. With basically the same user-interface, those who want to make a difference can support those looking for an education in developing countries with a loan as small as $25.
