When you add up all the time and dollars invested in trade show participation, it can be pretty costly, so you want to get the most out of it. In addition to the above suggestions, announce your attendance at the trade show via email to customers and prospects in advance, contact potential customers/partners in advance of the show and schedule time to meet, and consider a contest to attract people to your booth. Most importantly, measure your ROI from the show. Compare it to other shows you have participated in. Compare it to other promotional initiatives like press releases, online advertising, social media, etc. In the end you want to spend your time and money on the marketing initiative that gives you the best ROI.
