Often, we see success as being dictated by how good our business plan is, or how determined we are to reach our goals. However, I have learned that there a number of other factors that contribute to our success.

Great article Tom. Oftentimes we neglect the effects of our working environment to our performance but it should be considered as an important factor to guide us to our success. We should avoid adding unnecessary things that will only cause distraction to our work in our workplaces.

Hi Tom,

Oh how I related to this article. I was feeling out of sorts a bit in my office one day. It was a bit messy and a lightbulb went off. I decided to hang up lots of the articles that I wrote and the promotional material on the walls on my office.

My degrees and award certificates are there too.

It is really motivating – so I completely agree that your environment has to be right. I love your environment…I’d never think to go to the library.

Tom,

Environment is so important when creating a business whether in your home or elsewhere. A work environment full of distractions will make it impossible to focus and very soon you will find yourself getting nothing done. Not everyone perfect work environment will be the same. The key is to find something that works for you.

I love this article Tom because I am also slightly unconventional in my working arena. I work from home and did the whole turning the spare bedroom into an office with a great desk and everything set perfectly. But even going to the office felt like I was going to work and closing myself off. I now work from my living room in a comfy chair - my only interruptions are my dogs - but it doesn't feel so much like work and thankfully I enjoy it all. Thanks for sharing on Bizsugar.com
