One of the common misconceptions about freelance writing is that once you develop a certain amount of skill, you'll have no problem getting clients.

Writers don't get into slumps because they don't know how to write.

They get stuck because they aren't confident enough in their skills. As a result, they don't market themselves the way they should.

It takes confidence to get clients. But you need clients to feel confident. A classic Catch-22, right?
