Freelancing has dramatically grown within the last 10 years, and the more interconnected we become with developing countries, the phenomenon is only going to grow. Contrary to what people may think though, being a Freelancer isn’t easy; you need to stick to tight schedules, competition is tough, and you need to be completely aware of your own capabilities and what you can deliver.

Firstly, you need to be confident in your expertise and know your limits. If you’re a graphic designer, but your work presents itself like you made it in Microsoft Paint, then you’re probably going to find it difficult to get repeat work (this is from experience however; not be being the Freelancer, but I once received a logo that legit looked like it was made in paint). If you’re selling your writing skills, then ensure your grammar is completely up to standards. Do something that you’re naturally strong in, or become an expert in the field you wish to choose.
