Hi @Heather. I completely understand what you are saying. And while I do believe that there are certain skills/situations that can only be learned on the job working as an entrepreneur. However, when broken down to a granular level, the skills critical to being a successful business owner such as marketing, accounting, management are certainly areas that academic institutions can fully prepared to teach them to individuals. Your thoughts?

Hi Grant,

I've obviously got no problem with entrepreneurship. The question I have is whether academic institutions are prepared to truly teach it. I'm not implying by this that I believe it's a skill that can't be taught. Rather, I'm wondering if academics know enough about this particular discipline yet to do so.
