We recently advertised for a content marketing intern. We had over 100 applications in 1 week, some great ones some not so great. The main surprise for me was how few people made a strong effort to make their application stand out.

Hi Dan.

If you read a lot of job listings, you will see that many of them are very specific not to call. You received 100 applications, which you can read at your leisure. Imagine if you have redceived 100 phone calls, each one interrupting what you were doing?

Exactly.

Most employers would consider it harassment to be called. I sure would. I would only recommend calling if first given permission to by the employer. Otherwise, it's just telephone spam.
