Last week’s post was centered around really great business advice that worked for the entrepreneurs who shared their stories.

In contrast, this week I wanted to showcase the big lessons learned from bad business advice. My hope in sharing this information with you is that you might avoid going down some of the wrong paths that these business owners did.

If you have a bad business advice story from which you learned a valuable lesson, please post it in the comments below.

There's nothing worse than having people around you who don't support your dreams, who tell you that the future you envision for yourself and your business is "pie in the sky". I think the Australians, British, and others refer to someone who has aspirations to reach beyond the average and do well as being "Tall poppies", but for an entrepreneur, being around people who embrace this attitude is a complete drag. They want you to fail so they don't feel bad for not trying themselves. These people are toxic. That's my experience...now I make a supreme effort to avoid those people.
