Facebook's attempts at monetisation mean it now costs more to send a Facebook message, than to buy a stamp!

I noticed this myself, Claire. Outrageous. It's an example of nickel-and-diming that, together with the other nonsense Facebook regularly puts its users through, will eventually be its undoing. Thanks for shining a light on this one.

I didn't buy the idea of paying Facebook messages because it has no value to me and it is a shame they brought this logic just to milk people's hard earn money.

Thanks for sharing.

Apparently they are testing it, and haven't yet decided whether to roll it out to everyone.

It's a shame they've attempted to monetise a feature that is an essential part of social networking; sending a message to connect is good netiquette and with this it will discourage people connecting in a social way- by communicating with people they want to be Facebook friends with!
