I once read somewhere that the difference between G+ and FB is that G+ get's the logistics and functionality of social networking, while FB gets human emotions. It's very true.

Profitability aside, I used to think that FB was a fad, but the truth is that millions and millions of its billions of users have their whole lives on this social network- thousands of photos, and comments, and events. It's a part of their lives (and FB's new timeline set up is brillant for this reason) It will be hard to just up and leave.

G+ on the other hand seems good for specific, more work-related communities. It's definitely not a substitute for FB.
