Do you use the default admin username on a WordPress powered website? If so, you should consider deleting it as you could be providing an easy 'in' for hackers.

Mind boggling, I have to admit. Still don't know why some people fail to change their username. Really a good reminder, and I'll actually go a step further by saying, don't consider.. just do it!

Absolutely agree! And it's so easy to do too!

Very interesting!, I never knew about all this till I read this post. I will follow your instructions and change my own wordpress details.

Thanks for sharing!

A lot of people don't, they usually only find out about it after their site is hacked.

Glad you enjoyed the post!

I have had former Wordpress installations hacked, and one of the first things I learned after these attacks was to change the name of my admin user in Wordpress. Great advices and instructions in the article :)

Thanks! I've learned from hacking experiences too! These days I never use admin for a username.
