I read that for Facebook, liking your own post when you first share it makes it more visible. I don't know how true that is, but if it is indeed true, then that might be the same case on a Google+ platform.

I, for one, cannot like my own posts. I can't think of a time that I have. But that's just me.

Mike: I will give a +1 for this post! I haven't +1ed my own posts so often, but I give "+es" now and then to other Google+ users that have liked my stuff and commented on it.
