Ivan: Thanks for your input! The first step I have to do, is to convert it to a business account, I think. That are the pros and cons, compared with a personal account?

Martin,

As far as I know, Pinterest for Business is better for businesses and marketers because they have analytics. You can also create rich pins (more detailed info in your pins) - among others.

Ivan: What do you think of using Pinterest for my forthcoming book on tea and tea blends? At the moment, I am mainly using Pinterest like a bookmarking site for my hobbies and interest. Do you have examples of small businesses, using Pinterest as their main social media channel? Would you even call it a platform? How easy is it communicate between users?

Martin,

It wouldn't hurt :) Usually retailers targeting women are using Pinterest to promote their products.

It's not really a social media platform, IMO. It's more like a "product search engine" to me :) Communication in Pinterest is a handicap, I think :)
