I recently started meddling around with Instagram, trying to find out what it was really all about. OK, so I realize I’m probably behind the eight-ball on jumping on this bandwagon. But I’m here now and making up for lost time!

Hi Jenn,

Have to admit I'm not an Instagram user...yet. However, it's easy to see the potential in the viral power of photos. It seems to me the key here is to take a very subtle approach in marketing and brand building. In fact, there are probably some lessons to be learned here about throttling back on what can be a heavy handed approach to some of our other social media use. Heather, you're missing out! ;)

I was a skeptic for a long time and held off for multiple reasons but I can honestly say I wish I had started using this site earlier. It's quickly becoming a top favorite site for me.

And one of the reasons is because of what you said, it's not "marketing" like you see on other platforms. I blog about social media. It's really hard to market that in photos everyday. So instead, I share pictures that show who I am. When I go places or find things I like, I share them through pictures. I can use the captions to give more information or connect with followers. But I can't share a blog post or a new article or a video or a lot of other things. It's really making me think creatively and connect with people on a whole new level.
