Tcamba, I agree it's obviously a rip-off. But, I also appreciate how the hashtag is universal now in social media! Maybe Facebook will come out with something actually innovative soon :)

I honestly think it's not added. I believe facebook has added these hashtags to help with their graph search. Only if the could come up with something innovative like twitters trending topics without having to look like a rip off! :)
