In this article I'll look at the pros and cons of sharing the same content across all your social media channels such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.

Hi Jamie,

These are some great questions to ask. I'm not sure all social media practices are black and white. Perhaps most of the value comes from asking the questions in the first place. Thanks for sharing with the BizSugar community.

Hi Heather, it's a good point you make. Nothing in social media is really set in stone. What works for one business may not work for another.

You can really tell when someone is using software to post on various social media accounts. It becomes robotic and it continually repeats itself. I just think that people are becoming so consumed with getting their blog posts, products or websites out there that they don't realize that they maybe doing more damage then good. People don't realize if you seem robotic people will just stop reading what you are sending out and that is the complete opposite of what you want to happen. Thanks for pointing out these mistakes so that we can make sure that we aren't making them. Awesome blog post and thanks for sharing!

Thanks for your comments. I have a couple of LinkedIn connections that post the same messages on all their social media accounts at the same time. I wouldn't mind so much but they post about 30 messages per day. Quality is definitely better than quantity.

You've written a great piece and made some valid points. I do agree that sharing the same content across your social profiles can cause reader fatigue. Who wants to read the same tired thing over and over again. I think the key to keeping the content you share interesting is to make sure that the content has personality and engages the readers. In stead of viewing social media as a broadcast medium, use it as a platform to get more interaction with your audience and seek deeper engagement.

Thanks for sharing your insights with us.

Hi Ti, engagement is definitely better than broadcasting. Another tactic I've seen used is to come up with a new heading for the same article when you post it on different social media accounts. Asking questions of your readers is also a good way to connect. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
