After speculation that major companies like Facebook were involved in PRISM, a secret government program that monitors user data, Facebook aims to bring more transparency to its privacy policy. Previously, Facebook released a statement regarding the user data request process in place for government authorities. Today Facebook follows up on that statement by releasing its first Global Government Requests Report.

It's just like the traditional conspiracy theories. Like there's always a bigger group keeping an eye out on everybody, and it doesn't come to my surprise that Facebook's got many fingers pointing on them.

Daniel: Kudos for Facebook for being transparent in this issue. It is scary with this Big Brother mentality. I am for the security agencies spying on the bad guys, but not doing these random searches on innocent social media users.
