Having a WordPress blog is great but what is the deal with all that comment spam? How can we put a stop to it?

I also think having to register is a bit extreme but if some of your ideas for plugins are used hopefully that won't be needed. I particularly like CommentLuv too. Thanks for sharing on Bizsugar.com

It is important that you monitor the comments, and I mean every comment! If possible you should also 'moderate' comments, and approve at least the first comment from a commentator. Yes, I know this sound tedious, but there are steps you can take to help ease the burden. For example WordPress users can use a plugin, which will allow someone to be put on 'probation', which means you can allow a comment, but they then can't go mad and comment like crazy, without your approval (depending on your settings). Thanks for sharing.

I'm with you! I moderate EVERY comment. To me it's just a matter of vigilance and responsibility but I had no idea that they had a probation plugin. Seriously, they have plugin for everything. :) Thanks for commenting
