A: I will add my cat pics now and then to the Modulator. I think that the guy running the blog has been writing stuff about politics in the past and sometime nowadays too. Maybe it is like my first blog, started in 2002, everything under the sun; politics, philosophy, cats, chile pepper, social media, etc.! ;)

Alleliaspili: Thanks for your reply. There should always be a concrete plan for new and old media! ;) I agree that it is not only about social media, it should be a marketing mix. I do think that a website should become interactive in some ways in the future, otherwise it will become obsolete in the long-run...

Please explain these two myths more in detail:

- You should dedicate a staff / team for social media to get results.

- Social media can take the place of your website.

Shouldn't you get your staff engaged in social media activities?

Shouldn't your web site get more interactive with the help of social media channels?

Hi Lyceum,

Thanks for your comment, I appreciate it. The article didn't mention anything about not letting the employees engage in social media activities. Instead, it highlights the fact that being devoted in doing so should also guarantee results. Perhaps, if the staff keeps on engaging and not even getting measurable results, like traffic, then you should think about planning about it more effectively.

On the other hand, I agree on what you said about getting more activities on your website using social media - but it's not always the same thing. B2Bs and B2Cs should use different strategies because they have different target market. It's not just about social media - it's what the article says.

All in all, there should always be a concrete social media strategic plan.

I hope I was able to clarify your question. :)
