Reginald: Have you read Scott Stratten's post, Mannequin Networking -Why Twitter Automation is Bad?

Hi Lyceum,

Just did. Well I read quite a few like this already. Now let me see. I know a bunch of peeps who does that. Basically set automation and bye bye / see you next week thingy.

That's why I always suggest moderation or a balance from it. Personally, it depends on how you really consider the tool is. For example, I know this dude from Search Engine Journal who use Scrapebox (black hat seo tool) for white hat purposes.

So, that's a very thin line BUT ... I have to agree that the drak site (at times) are really strong :)

Hi Reginald,

This is a really comprehensive post on a topic that is discussed often...and with good reason. (Thanks for the detailed overview of social automation tools as well!) But the big question remains. When does social media automation become excessive? Engagement is also important, so how do we avoid putting social media on autopilot with our community and make sure we are still really talking to them? I'd love if you could talk about this in the BizSugar comment section as well for the benefit of all our members.

Thanks Reginald! Let's ask the BizSugar community. Any suggestions for social media automation? We'd love to hear your thoughts in this thread.

Hi Heather,

Thanks for commenting back on my post. Appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.

Social media automation is good but we must always handle with care. For example, it is best to practice replying to all comments and shares done. Sometime, a simple "thank you for sharing" could easily go a long way indeed!

I also love to do the Follow Friday thingy where I share my top influencers of the week to the rest. At least, that increases the chances to build a better relationship.

I am no pro in this and I am still learning from this. I am sure there are more expert out there especially here at BizSugar and can't wait to see what they have to say.

Reginald
