Hi Heather,

Excellent question - you got me thinking for some time; baring in mind that I am still a new blogger and learning a ton every day...

To make content socially valuable it needs to stand out from the million posts that come out daily, may be even more. It has to teach something, something the author learned, something the users can implement, tutorials or how to posts, tips and tricks...

Stats like number of shares, comments, feedback in social media, new followers or new email subscribers all give an indication if the content has done well. If the content has not done well then we can check others content that has done well to learn. We can use tools like Buzzsumo or Quicksprout to check on popular sites or popular posts.

Hope that answers your question and I am sure you will have something further to add with your wealth of knowledge and experience.

Thanks,

Cent

Hi Cent,

I think providing value is something most people strive to do in their content and social sharing. Of course, that's kind of a relative concept. Wondered if you had a more detailed definition of what exactly makes social content valuable. How do you know if you're doing it? How do you correct things if you're not?
