Hi Shola,

Attitude definitely is important! It can define what you see as possible and what you believe you can accomplish. Those are both pretty critical things, of course, since they can affect your ultimate success or failure. I think it's best to be optimistic but realistic. (No, I don't think those are contradictory terms.) Bringing this attitude to any challenge you can meet it with an intelligent plan and a realistic idea of the results to expect.

Hi Heather, thanks for the comment! I totally agree that it is possible to optimistic and realistic at the same time–that was perfectly stated. For example, it’s like starting a new fitness plan. I’m optimistic that all of my hard work will get me into the best shape of my life, but I’m also realistic that it won’t happen in a week’s time. In fact, I’ll take what you said a step further and say that being “optimistic and realistic” is the epitome of what it means to have a positive attitude.
