Before you can stop procrastinating, you need to find out why it is you’re putting your specific tasks off. There isn’t one single reason as to why people do procrastinate, which means that there isn’t also one technique you can use to stop procrastinating either.

The first step, is you need to look at why you’re putting off whatever it is you need to achieve. It can be a number of various things – perhaps the task isn’t compelling enough; maybe you find it boring, or it could be that you’re in a lazy state. If you’re looking at a large task, and thinking about how much work will be involved to complete it, such as the time, the resources needed, and the personal effort required to make it happen, you can also push yourself into a demotivated state.
