Yup, there are plenty of major changes ahead in many industries. The question is whether any of these businesses can really see around the corners to a future of profitability when almost all of the paradigms upon which they have built their business models are gone. Seth Godin, paraphrasing someone else I think, once wrote that no one has ever shrunk their way to greatness. I would tend to agree. Though learning to do more with less has become the name of the game in many companies, I wonder if it isn't time they make up some new rules.
