Online Video is one of the best ways to communicate with customers for a small business owner. It doesn’t need to be elaborate or fancy, just to the point. People don’t read as much any more, so share your message in a video. Great links in here, too.

Videos can be very powerful, or quite amusing, but I have 1 suggestion: If it's going to be over 5 minutes long it's likely that a lot of people may listen but not watch - while they're driving (or doing the dishes), for example. Half-hour chunks of time are not lightly granted by the masses unless it's really entertaining, or vitally important. Not that great things shouldn't/can't be said at length, but be forewarned that people who'll take 5 minutes to read a blog won't easily give up 30 minutes to watch or listen to your ideas - look how hard it is to grab a TV audience share - and there's far fewer TV channels than there are blogs.

I'm going to prove you wrong! When I learn to create video, my first will be "The Business Blogging Bikini Bash!" It will be thirty minutes long. Let's see how many people (mostly guys I'd assume) will be willing to donate 30 minutes of their time :)

Great post. I'm a pretty big tech dummy. I would like to have some original video content in my blogs, but since I have no idea how to do it even basically, I search for existing videos to embed. maybe one day I'll take a course.
