It's basically a site offering you a tool to build a list of anything. The list you have built is embeddable, so you can copy the code and paste it on your page - that's all :)
You can build your own list or embed others' lists. You can add to the list anytime you want (or accepting others' listing suggestion) and the list will be updated in real time.
