Interesting discussion. I think podcasting is doing great and I was not aware that it was facing any challenges. But it seems that a lot of folks feel that way.

Hi Ileane,

Exactly, the primary challenge of Podcast Industry is how well podcasters monetize their shows and which strategies they will adopt to promote their information to a wider group of listeners. It’s very important to have some planned approach in order to maintain audience stream as well as revenue generation to stay in the business.

I have mentioned that global audio market is growing significantly, which has lead more and more people to focus towards podcasting. This means that podcasters have to face tough competition with their promotional efforts and marketing strategies. They have to focus on every aspect starting from podcast recording to hosting and distribution of online audio shows.

Ileane: According to the author of the post, is the main challenge monetization. The author is representing a transcription service. I have a challenge with creating my show notes and to monetize my show! ;) But I am in it for the long run and my show will stick around a bit longer... ;)
