NBCUniversal just made a $200 million equity investment in new media company BuzzFeed in a deal that values the company at around $1.5 billion.
The New York based company had previously raised $100 million in funding including a $50 million round last August.
With the venture capital they’ve been able to hire more employees, including some big time reporters and heads which will help them become more of a “serious” media publication.
