It's probably inevitable that the backdrop of the election provides great PR opportunities. Of course, too much involvement with politics can be a bad thing for your brand as well.

Hi Heather. Hitching your PR wagon doesn't have to mean your business is drawing a political line in the sand, unless of course your involvement has you volunteering and visibly campaigning for one official over the others (i.e., campaign signs plastered all throughout your location). But using the political landscape to push your "agenda" can be a great way to get in some news stories.
