Main tips: A) Pick an area for your business that you are already familiar with (such as chess for me) and use that as a starting point.

B) Make sure there is interest in your product before pursuing it. Post on forums, ask friends and family, and seek out people that are already in the business - people with both successful and not successful experiences.
