Jim: Thanks for your comment and support! I will talk to my WordPress webmaster about the future site for Americanized.org. I will tell him that you have video tutorials. Have you used Genesis framework? Do you have suggestions on a suitable template for my site?

"I hope you pick WordPres. Because it's so popular, there's lots of support for it. Plus you can always ask me for help, plus I have over 90 free video tutorials as well! LOL"

Jim: Thanks for your feedback on my Americanized banner! :) I haven't decided which web platform that I will use in the future. Maybe I will pick Wordpress... ;)

Martin,

I hope you pick WordPres. Because it's so popular, there's lots of support for it. Plus you can always ask me for help, plus I have over 90 free video tutorials as well! LOL

Jim: Yes, change is the only constant thing in this industry! ;)

I think that Wordpress is having a real challenge to keep up with all the spammers putting out crap out there and hackers trying to destroy stuff. The solution according to my view is start with a premium service or get a better security package installed from the start.

I would appreciate if you would read my post: http://ego.posthaven.com/posthaven-is-a-safe-haven-for-post-posterous

Jim:

It out there on the marketplace if Wordpress will continue to be the leader in future. I think that we will see premium alternatives at a good value that will compete with Wordpress. Take Squarespace for example. You get hosting and a web tool in one and you could design nice sites in an easy way.

Even if another alternative comes along. WordPress has popularity. So many people have invested in creating themes and plugins and tutorials and videos and being WordPress Website Designers (like myself), that even if something better comes along, they will be slow to switch over. That's just my opinion. But at one point Internet Explorer was the most popular browser, so change is inevitable! Come to think of it, Netscape was extremely popular as a browser at one point! What happened there? Change.

WordPress is the best, so we just need to work with it and keep safe. All software is vulnerable. I recommend two important WP free security plugins on my site, as well.

Jim: Thanks for your reply. I will inform my colleague about this. Do you have a solution for this security problem in the long run? Do you think that Wordpress always be under attack due to its popularity and free web template that could attracts scammers and spammers?

Written by jupiterjim

Yes, I recommend some great WP Security plugins on my recent blog posts.

I will always user WordPress. There are lots of ways to keep the site safe! The problem is that most people just have no idea how to keep it safe, and if they do know, they are too lazy to do anything until it is too late.

The #1 most important thing you can do is to have a secure backup. I have a free backupplugin on my site OR BackupBuddy is the best but it costs money.

I hope this helps.

Wow! It was really cool to see that someone had shared my WordPress article on hacking on BizSugar!

Many people are STILL USING 'admin' as a login username in WordPress. This is a huge mistake and a huge vulnerability!

Fortunately, it's real easy to fix.

I have a video tutorial on how to change the 'admin' login name to something else more secret:

http://jupiterjimsmarketingteam.com/2013/05/01/how-to-change-admin-username-in-wordpress/

It only takes a few minutes and is So Easy to do.

So please do it!

Take Care,

Jupiter Jim

Jupiter Jim: Thanks for shedding light on the vulnerability of the Word Press infrastructure. I will pass on this information to my friend who is taking care of our sites built on the WordPress platform.

I have shared my ideas on free, freemium and premium web platforms in a post on my new site Americanized (placed on a new platform called Post Haven).
