Rather than interrupting the interviewee with questions, just take down notes and ask later. TRUE! If you keep bothering and stopping them just to clarify something you didn't hear, you'd totally ruin the interview especially if the interviewee is so immersed in telling their story.

Thank you for the feedback and kind words. Yes, I also I agree with you that interviewees become immersed in telling their story and should be left alone to talk. Recently, I made the mistake of asking questions to a subject while he was giving me his notes on a blog post. My questions did cause his flow to stop, and he noticeably was rattled when I would interrupt. At that point, I decided it would be best to just shut my mouth and listen.... Sure enough, the rest of the interview went smoothly. ~ John

Hi John,

I think the comparison of blogging to journalism is right on. More importantly, many business owners are in tune with some of the basics of journalism thanks to the number of newsletter publishers both in e-mail form and on paper before the blog was born. Hope bloggers out there will take note. There is much to learn from the world journalism, even if blogging need not always be confined by the same boundaries. Thanks so much for your insightful feedback Heather. Often times, people hear the term "blog" and assume it's just a random person writing in diary posts or journal entries. Certainly, a blog can be that, but I think we see eye to eye that blogs may better serve as professional journalistic articles for the readers. And, as you've stated, the world of journalism can add to the benefits of blog writing. Thanks again! ~ John
