I do hate receiving DMs but I agree with mssux's comment. The writer's advice seems a little extreme for me. I think it could be dealt with in a more discreet manner. He obviously wrote this from a place of great frustration which I can totaly understand.

I don't like canned Direct Messages in Twitter. I do not know many people who do. But what this author suggests is like announcing to a stadium full of people over loudspeakers that you don't like something that the guy sitting next to you just said. Then YOU become just as annoying as the guy you are complaining about. And the experience becomes unbearable for everyone, what with all the constant complaining in public.
