Agree. They started out as helpful and well considered tools to help understand a topic, something I had blogged about: http://www.garybembridge.com/2012/03/infographics-what-are-they-when-should.html

But they know have, as you say, become like spam and over used. Hopefully a way can be found to filter out the good ones as I am now tired of seeing so many - and so many that are weak!

I think they're working on this already. Spam infographics are just everywhere, just try to use Tumblr.
