It basically covers anchor link stuff in guest blog posts and press releases, and how those tactics are being hurt by Google's new update. Just another reason that great content for the sake of great content will always trump SEO!

Intuitively, it makes sense. Algorithms try to replicate human behaviour, and the search engines don't want you to overdo anything to get their attention.
