Great point here, Gabe. I learned this a while back, but it took me a minute to figure it out. This is definitely one of the best pieces of advice. Most my list has been build via content and forum marketing. Although I may not have a massive list yet, I do have an incredibly responsive list, which is pretty awesome.

Focus on the quality of the traffic rather the the quantity and you should do okay.
